Featured Project:
Unveiling the evolution of Empúries’ landscape and settlements across the centuries



Project Objective:
Based on the chronostratigraphic interpretation of sedimentary records, as well as palynological, paleontological, and geochemical analyses, it has been possible to reconstruct the evolution of the paleolandscape and its relationship with the settlements in the Ampurias area over the centuries. A total of nine scenarios have been developed in collaboration with an experimented team of archaeologists, geoarchaeologists and geologists.
Project Outcome:
Decades of dedicated research, substantial investment in archaeological excavations and geological surveys have culminated in series of visually compelling 3D images that have distilled complex scientific data into accessible visuals.
This project has materialized two key elements: a publication in the prestigious Madrider Mitteilungen and the development of engaging content for numerous museum initiatives.

What is a 3D Digital Reconstruction?
A 3D Digital Reconstruction is a three-dimensional visual representation that can accurately reveal lost or poorly preserved objects, spaces, monumets, etc. that in our case it is done by combining scientific, technical, and artistic data. In order to emphasize accuracy, all our reconstruction projects are undertaken in collaboration with scientific consultants (historians, archaeologists, geologists, curators, etc.) who are experts in their various fields.
These reconstructions enable the exploration, analysis, and clear communication of complex information, making them invaluable for research, education, outreach, and high-impact publications.
